NRL Betting: Broncos still strong without stars

With only the five games being played this weekend because of the Origin decider next week, Matt Adamson can see the possibility of a number of young NRL hopefuls getting the chance to put their name up in lights.

The Broncos are a team over the years that have done this as well as anybody, with a large chunk of their squad always required at the Origin level.

I expect this year to be no different as they will undoubtedly unearth another player who will soon be another household name.

There will be a carnival atmosphere all week in Brisbane, building up for the decider, and it's that alone that will inspire these young Broncos to do their fellow Origin representatives proud.

The big questions still remains: how will this inexperienced outfit handle the strength of an experienced campaigner in the Sharks?

Ben Ross and Jeremy Smith will provide a headache for Brisbane, as will the likes of Graham and Gibbs who themselves are previous members of the City team at different stages of their career.

The Sharks pack will no doubt see this as a terrific opportunity to physically intimidate the younger bodies of the Broncos, but this could play into the hands of Peter Wallace and Corey Norman to be at their creative best.

Expect them to pull the trigger and pull apart a team that has brought its punch but not packed its spunk.

Warriors at home again

Without a shadow of a doubt it's time for the Warriors make their move this weekend.

With no interruptions to their squad during Origin, they simply have no excuse for their underwhelming month leading into this game.

The Cowboys will be severely undermanned this week and with matches against the Titans and Knights to come, the next three weeks loom as a massive opportunity for the Warriors to salvage their season and prove not all is lost.

The style of play the Warriors have used this year under new coach Brian McClennan hasn't taken my fancy at all. It's looked messy and at times they appear to have lost their natural attacking flow that former coach Ivan Cleary seemed to draw out of them so well.

To the Warriors I plead: Please, in front of a cold and wet loyal fan base this weekend, open your minds and start to play some footy that will bring back the crowds. That alone might be enough to kick start your campaign, considering you are only two points outside the eight.

And let's be honest, the competition is a lot more exciting when the Warriors are running hot.
