Dominic Beirne
Dominic was licensed as an on-course bookmaker in 1979 and within 3 years, had the highest turnover in the world, of any bookmaker wagering solely on local horse races. He revolutionised the role of a bookmaker and the art of race-form analysis, before retiring from bookmaking in 1988.
He sat on the Appeals Panel for Racing NSW for 10 years; wrote and presented a paper at the Asian Racing Conference in Tokyo in 2008; is invited to appear on National TV and present on radio in many States of Australia.
With his partner, Tim Wooller, he incorporated Intelligent Wagering Solutions to provide mathematical solutions for totalizator companies, their clients, corporate bookmakers and punting syndicates. He consults regularly to horse trainers and owners, providing race tactics and programming advice.
