Hewitt will put up a noble fight, but will be overwhelmed by the class of Federer in four sets

Lleyton Hewitt and Samantha Stosur will be bundled out of the Australian Open by world number-one players Roger Federer and Serena Williams, predicts Tony Keen.

Roger Federer (SUI) vs. Lleyton Hewitt (AUS)

Lleyton Hewitt was gifted a place in the fourth round after midway through their match Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis called it quits due to a shoulder injury.

It's the sixth time that the world number 22 has progressed to the last 16 of the Australian Open, but his chances of progressing any further are slim as he will be facing Roger Federer , who has won his past 14 matches against the Australian.

The last time they met was at the US Open in 2009 when Federer won in four sets in a match that could have gone either way. Hewitt was battling with a knee complaint at the time, but is now in the best shape he has been for some time, so he will fancy his chances of causing an upset.

However, Federer is one of, if not the, classiest player in world tennis and has a habit of coming up with the big shots at crucial times.

Hewitt will put up a noble fight but he be overwhelmed by the class of Federer in four sets.

Serena Williams (USA) vs. Samantha Stosur (AUS)

Serena Williams has been virtually unstoppable so far in the first grand slam of the year, having dropped just nine games in her opening three matches.

Regardless, Sam Stosur will believe she is in with a genuine chance of progressing to the quarter finals given she defeated the defending champion, 6-2 3-6 6-2, when the pair last met in July 2009.

Getting in Stosur's way is the undeniable fact that Williams is currently hitting the ball with a tremendous amount of power, meaning her opponents rarely have the opportunity to attack and win points.

Like Hewitt, Stosur will battle hard, but the red-hot Williams will win the big points and account for the Australian in two tight sets.
