The shut-up shop policy was largely successful with the Latics only creating one real chance, when Given saved from Rodallega with minutes to.
The game finished 1-1, with the draw matched at [4.0]. The result leaves City in fifth place, availble to back on Betfair at 1.91 for a top four finish.

The local pride at stake was palpable around Ewood Park at kick-off but Burnley striker Robbie Blake silenced the home fans when he rifled in an excellent shot from 20 yards out after four minutes.
Five minutes later Rovers were level through David Dunn and after 21 minutes Franco Di Santo scored his first for Blackburn after a bizarre game of head-tennis between Burnley's defenders gifted him with an open net.
After Pascal Chimbonda made it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time, Burnley knew they had a mountain to climb in the second-half. The Clarets gave a decent account of themselves but failed to create any real chances until Chris Eagles slotted home a late goal to give Rovers a few jittery closing seconds and reward those who backed over 4.5 goals at [8.2].
