An afternoon of few upsets sees Premier League clubs stroll into the Fourth Round but there's still little to cheer about at Fratton Park...

Punters who backed a giant-killing act in the FA Cup Third Round will have been disappointed by Saturday's action.

The nearest the competition got to an upset was Coventry City earning a draw at Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest holding Birmingham at the City Ground and League One Millwall doing likewise at home to Derby County.

The day's best betting story probably came at Deepdale where managerless Preston put seven past Colchester. Seven goals or more was matched at [31.4]. Fellow managerless Lancastrian's Bolton also had a good afternoon, beating Lincoln 4-0 at the Reebok stadium.

There were comprehensive victories for Tottenham and Everton, who won 4-0 and 3-1 respectively, although the Toffees did drift to [3.0] as they struggled to break down the visitors defence for an extended period at 1-1.

Brad Guzan continues to enhance his reputation as a penalty saver. The American keeper, who recently saved five in a League Cup shootout, denied David Dunn from the spot in Aston Villa's 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. El Hadji-Diouf was sent off in the first half.

Roberto Martinez was delighted with his Wigan side as they put in an excellent second half performance to overcome Hull City at the DW Stadium. With his side a goal down at half-time, Martinez brought on Charles N'Zogbia, who scored two in the second half as Wigan traded at 6.4 before running out 4-1 winners to the pleasure of those who grabbed [17.5] on Over 4.5 goals.

Roberto Mancini maintained his 100 percent record as Manchester City manager. The Blues huffed and puffed against Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough but eventually came away 0-1 winners.

Elsewhere, Fulham and Stoke City progressed to the fourth round while Roy Keane's Ipswich came from behind - and drifted to [6.0] - to win away at Blackpool. Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle's fans face a long midweek journey when they go to Newcastle for a replay - the two sides drew 0-0 at Home Park today.
