English sides qualify for last 16 as punters cash in on draw drama...

Manchester United and Chelsea qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League as both were involved in dramatic draws.

After sloppy defending and clinical Russian finishing, United found themselves 1-3 down to CSKA Moscow, who traded at a low of [1.07], with six minutes remaining. Paul Scholes' header then made it 2-3 before Antonio Valencia's injury time shot was deflected past the superb Igor Akinfeyev in the CSKA goal.

As United celebrated their progress to the last 16 of the competition there was plenty for Betfair punters to cheer: the draw traded at [14.5], six goals or more was worth a cool [42.0] in the total goals market while the 3-3 scoreline was backed at a massive [270.00].

Chelsea's 2-2 draw away to Atletico Madrid also provided decent in-play betting. Sergio Aguero gave the home side the lead with a stunning volley which flew past Petr Cech after 66 minutes. Didier Drogba, returning from his three match suspension, headed Chelsea level before giving them the lead with an ace solo effort in the 88th minute.

Chelsea traded at [1.07] for the win before the lethal Aguero levelled in injury time to reward those who backed at the draw at [14.5].

Betfair backers still fancy Chelsea's chances of wining the Champions League more than United's. The Blues are [5.6] in the winner market with Sir Alex's men out at [9.6].

The big game at the San Siro failed to ignite as AC Milan and Real Madird were involved in a 1-1 draw which was matched at [4.2]. Karim Benzema gave the Spanish side the lead in the first half before Ronaldinho hammered in a penalty before half-time. The teams are now tied on four points but Marseille are hot on their heels after they thumped FC Zurich 6-1.

Elsewhere, Bordeax are through after trading at [5.5] for their stellar 0-2 away win against Bayern Munich. Porto are also in the last 16 after a late goal gave them victory away to APOEL.

Juventus touched [2.18] as they picked up a valuable three points away to Maccabi Haifa and Wolfsburg were impressive in attack once again as they beat Besiktas 0-3 in Turkey. The German champions were matched at [3.2].
