Horse Betting: Euphoria for Euphorbia @ Kilmore
From the inside draw Euphorbia should be able to get a good run in transit and is likely to be running on strongly over the concluding stages.
Timeform's Gary Crispe likes the recent form of the Peter Snowden and Vlad Duric combination, and they once again combine at Kilmore today.
Euphorbia, a four-year-old mare, resumed well last start when scoring a narrow win in similar company at Seymour over 1213m, and should appreciate the extra trip here today.
She has won at this track previously and on her win last start comes into the race with one of the highest weight-adjusted Timeform ratings in the field.
Duric, who has been in outstanding form for the Snowden yard of late, has already ridden 15 winners and 24 place-getters this season from 87 rides and has only had the one start on Euphorbia for a win.
From the inside draw she should be able to get a good run in transit and is likely to be running on strongly over the concluding stages.
Her second-up record does not read overly well but she has not been far away on both occasions.
The lightly-raced Arlington Park from the Mick Price stable looms as the big danger here first-up from a spell.
The four-year-old gelding is yet to miss the placings from three career starts and was sent for a spell after an easy win at Warrnambool back in May.
He is likely to be looking for further than this and may need the run, however, he has drawn well in barrier 2 and placed both times at this trip.
This is a step-up from maiden class and plenty have found it difficult to make the progression from maiden company when only lightly raced.
Bringenbrong also rates a mention in this after resuming in good order for third behind Euphorbia last start, beaten 2.9L.
He meets Euphorbia 2kg better at the weights, which will make it a closer finish here. He has won at the trip previously and with jockey Glen Boss coming off a winning treble at Moonee Valley on Saturday must come into consideration.
The Shank rates the best of the rest but will need to improve on recent form to challenge in this. He does drop back in grade and distance, but on what he has produced of late looks to be running for a place.
Not a great deal between the top three here but expecting Euphorbia to continue on her winning way.
