St George Illawarra Dragons have a four-point lead over their nearest rivals after beating the Warriors 29-4 in Auckland, writes Andy Morris.

Brett Morris scored two tries to lead the competition with 17 for the season as the Dragons ended any outside hopes the New Zealand team had of making the top eight.

The Dragons were ahead inside three minutes, when Morris went over, and dominated the match to move two games ahead of the Bulldogs and Titans.

The Bulldogs were shocked by the Eels, losing 27-8 at ANZ Stadium.

The Eels, fresh from Monday's win over Melbourne, kept alive their hopes of making the finals as they led from the start against a lethargic Dogs team.

Eric Grothe scored two of Parramatta's five tries and the Eels kept the Bulldogs pointless after the break.

The Wests Tigers are only one win outside the top eight after a 25-4 win over the Raiders at Canberra Stadium.

The Tigers were ahead 19-0 at the break and were tenacious on defence as they secured an important victory in cold and wet conditions.

Michael Jennings scored a hat-trick to help the Panthers come from behind to beat the Cowboys 28-20 at Dairy Farmers Stadium.

The Panthers were 16-10 down with 14 minutes to go but responded with two tries to Jennings and one to Jarrod Sammut to secure their ninth win in 12 visits to Townsville.

The Storm beat the Sharks 30-10 at Olympic Park to tighten its hold on a top-four spot.

Despite being hit by injuries, with Greg Inglis, Ryan Hoffman and Dallas Johnson all out, they scored four tries in 10 minutes to take a stranglehold on the game.

Brett Anderson, filling in for Inglis, scored two of the tries as the Storm bounced back from last week's shock loss to the Eels.

The Sea Eagles beat the Knights 44-20 at Bluetongue Stadium, continuing its late-season charge.

Down by 14 points midway through the first half, Manly hit back with three unanswered tries in the final nine minutes of the half.

It means the Sea Eagles have now won eight of their last 10 matchesw and are just one point adrift of the top four.

The Titans beat the Broncos 34-18 at Skilled Park, consolidating their place in the top four.

The Broncos scored three late tries, but were never really in the match as Scott Prince showed his class by laying on four tries in the first half.
