The Cowboys without Johnathan Thurston are like the bus driver without any bus; lost, witless and bereft of direction.
Our man Nick Tedeschi coughs up the hot tips for this weekend's round of the NRL.
Manly (v North Queensland)
3 units at match odds of $1.10 or better
The Cowboys without Johnathan Thurston are like the bus driver without any bus; lost, witless and bereft of direction.
North Queensland have over-achieved this year to reach a 9-3 record, but they meet a red-hot Manly side who have hit full stride with dominant wins over both Brisbane and Canterbury.
Manly have won three of their last five against the Cowboys and have won all four matches by a total of 86-38 at Brookvale this year.
They should win this comfortably.

Canberra (v Brisbane)
1 unit at match odds of $1.72 or better
If the Raiders can't beat this Broncos team, they won't win another game this year.
The Broncos have been gutted by Origin, losing their five best players, leaving their hopes in the hands of Peter Wallace, Alex Glenn, Gerard Beale and company.
The Raiders had been warming into it of late. They beat the Storm in Melbourne, touched up Canterbury and held a 22-0 lead over the Cowboys last Sunday, before butchering that lead and all confidence that went with it.
Canberra have a major class edge in terms of talent and with this clash a do or die affair, they should step up.

Wests Tigers (v New Zealand)
1 unit at match odds of $2.40 or better
The Tigers are struggling at present.
They have been a long way from their best football over the last month, sneaking home over Penrith and Newcastle, but soundly beaten by Souths and the Dragons.
The Warriors have really struggled to score over the last two matches, scoring only 12 against the Bunnies before managing only a single try against the equal-last Roosters.
The Tigers have won the last two against the Warriors and they have won one of their only two outside of Sydney this year.
Benji Marshall is warming to a big game, and as an underdog, the Tigers can get the money here.
