Clear the way for the Warriors

The Warriors won this clash 26-18 when they last met in round eight at Mt Smart Stadium.

Andy Morris is anticipating added spice in the clash between the Panthers and the Warriors on Saturday.

While Penrith can't make the finals, the Warriors remain firmly on course for a top-eight finish under Ivan Cleary.

Panthers' stand-in coach Steve Georgallis has been unable to lift his side - perhaps not surprising given he knows he's on borrowed time. The team has suffered four defeats in five games, last weekend's 32-18 loss to the Wests Tigers finally ending their hopes of making the finals.

The Warriors won this clash 26-18 when they last met in round eight at Mt Smart Stadium. They have a largely healthy squad, with Elija Taylor and Lance Hohaia being recalled after taking a rest against the Knights last week.

The major talking point, of course, will be Cleary's presence at the Warrior's home ground, which will be his new home from next season.

He will want to sign off on his tenure at the club by doing what no previous Warriors' coach has managed - to win a premiership.

To do so, they really need to finish in the top four. They go into this round just a point behind St George and two behind the Cowboys, both of whom they have yet to play.

The Warriors should be backed in match odds betting at 1.5, while the Panthers are 2.96.
