Bulldogs v Warriors

With a win last week, the Warriors shot three places up the ladder and suggested they have what it takes to make the finals again.

It's been on the cards for some time, but Andy Morris will still sit back and wait and see whether Kevin Moore's departure from the Bulldogs will galvanise them.

Moore stepped down on Thursday, having looked like a dead man walking for a few weeks now. The club has lost seven of its last nine, and even at this stage of the season the chances of making the top eight don't look good.

It's not an ideal time for the Bulldogs to travel to Auckland to take on the Warriors, but perhaps Moore had "lost the dressing room" and the players will respond positively.

At least the Sydney side have an almost-full roster to choose from, and you could argue that the Warriors are in a far from ideal situation regarding their own coach.

Ivan Cleary has done a great job there, but you can't help wondering whether the news that he will leave at season's end will damage morale among the players.

With a win last week, the Warriors shot three places up the ladder and suggested they have what it takes to make the finals again. They'll need to keep winning, but having done so away to the Bulldogs earlier in the season they will be confident here.

The Warriors should be backed in match odds betting.
