It’s difficult to make much of a case for Canterbury this weekend - their teamwork looks shot and morale will be at rock bottom.
The Bulldogs look to be up against it when they take on the Storm at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday, and with not even home advantage to help them, Andy Morris wonders what hope they have.
They were beaten 30-16 by the Storm in round four, and it's easy to see a similar outcome this time.
Given what happened last weekend, even fewer people will be punting on the Bulldogs to claim a scalp here. They should have been able to take advantage of the Panthers' key absences last round, but there was just no fight in them.
That was a fifth defeat in six games, and their hopes of making the top eight are not looking good.
Contrast that with the Storm, who have certainly come out fighting this year after the heartbreak of last season.
They have won five in a row, the latest a gritty effort against the Warriors a fortnight ago.
Potentially, the only problem Melbourne might have is their players, who are backing up from Origin.
But considering the rest of the team had the bye last weekend, that shouldn't be much of a factor.
It's difficult to make much of a case for Canterbury this weekend - their teamwork looks shot and morale will be at rock bottom.
In match odds betting, the Storm are 1.49 with the Bulldogs available at 3.0.
