Jamie "The Pacman" Pacheco

James is the cricket, football and tennis editor of betting.betfair.com and sometime columnist.
I flirted with spells in Sports Marketing and Media Research before deciding that sports betting was my calling and I’ve now been at Betfair for over 5 years, the last two as co-editor of betting.betfair.com.
I’ve bet on most sports that Betfair have offered markets on over the years but prefer to get involved in-play after I’ve got a good idea of what’s going on. My biggest ever wins came from backing Light Shift at 6/1 for the 2007 Oaks after bumping into Timeform Radio pundit Andreas Constantinou at a Betfair social event (who swore he couldn’t lose) and Pakistan for the 2009 T20 World Cup at 11/1.
I support Benfica, Everton and Portugal at football and South Africa at rugby. My sporting idols are Rui Costa (style), Steve Waugh (mental strength) Joost van der Westhuizen (inspiration), Shane Warne (charisma) and Ana Ivanovic (erm, forehand).
