Shaun Marsh, David Hussey and Azhar Mahmood are shoo-ins for three of the four overseas spots; the other is between Ryan Harris and David Miller
Jaymes Monte is expecting the Kings XI to be once again comfortable winners when they meet Deccan in their upcoming IPL match-up.
Kings XI Punjab
Kings XI Punjab have won three of their last four matches coming into this one, but need to stay on the winning track if they are to qualify for the play-offs.
Adam Gilchrist's injury has been a blessing in disguise and I doubt he'll be involved here even if he is declared fit. Shaun Marsh, David Hussey and Azhar Mahmood are shoo-ins for three of the four overseas spots; the other is between Ryan Harris and David Miller.
Deccan Chargers
Deccan's miserable season continued with a pitiful bowling performance against Delhi on Thursday, after their batsmen had put up an imposing total to defend. Dale Steyn's fitness is a concern having missed Deccan's last two games.
Venue and Conditions
The pitch in Mohali appears to have become increasingly batsman friendly with scores of over 160 posted in the first innings of each of the last three matches. If Kings XI bat first go big on the innings runs against a feeble Deccan attack.
Match Odds
Kings XI have produced their best performances away from home this season, but there are no grounds to back Deccan at odds of 2.3 here. Any momentum the Chargers had gained was sapped away by David Warner's crushing innings last time out.
Top Kings XI Punjab Batsman
Mandeep Singh top scored with 75 from 48 balls in the reverse fixture and looks a solid bet at around 4.50.
Top Deccan Batsman
Cameron White continues to perform well with the bat and made 65 from 40 balls last time out. Although he wasn't his side's top scorer in that game he is the most consistent of the Deccan batsman and can be backed at 5.0 here.
