Bookies are offering between $1.90 and $2.10 about this class sprinter in early markets. I’d be poised to pounce should the Betfair layers gift black figures tomorrow.
Matthew Thompson thinks gun three-year-old sprinter Star Witness looks the banker for punters on a stellar Wednesday program at Betfair Park in Melbourne.
Saturday's big wet washed away the Caulfield program and has forced many trainers to alter the programs of group one autumn contenders. This means Danny O'Brien will produce his outstanding colt first-up at 1300 metres.
Star Witness has a win and a third in two previous fresh runs, both of which have been at 1100 metres. Given he's on an Australian Guineas path, this looks like a perfect first-up task.
Jockey Steven Arnold is spoilt for choice in the eight-horse field. Push up and use the inside draw or go back without risk of conceding a big start.

Shrewd exchange traders might shy away from short odds tomorrow and instead take the $6 about Star Witness in Betfair's ante post market on the Australian Guineas. Should the son of Starcraft put his opponents to the sword first-up, that $6 quote could promptly evaporate.
Keep an eye on the resuming Mr Chard.
He'll likely need the first-up run but is sure to figure in some nice autumn feature races.
Suggested bet: Star Witness to win.
Watch horse: Mr Chard
