For $118,150: "Will connections of VRC Sires Produce Stakes winner Rostova pay the late entry fee of $150,000 to run the filly in the 2009 AAMI Golden Slipper?"

To help us decide we can phone a friend or ask our racing audience to hear what they think.

Nice if it was that simple.

Golden Slipper betting says Rostova is a real show. At $11 the only babies above her are More Joyous, Real Saga and Melito. And More Joyous has the unenviable task of having to trial to the satisfaction of stewards on Friday and then win a ballot free race to qualify.

A straw poll of most punters shows that current Golden Slipper betting is right - Rostova's emphatic win in the Sires at Flemington has her perfectly primed. She was simply outstanding - best indicated by the hard riding displays of those left in her wake as she hit the line with ears pricked. Trainer Steve Richards was suitably impressed.and, provided the filly remains happy, he is seriously weighing up a crack at the Reisling Stakes on Saturday week. From there it could be the Slipper or AJC Sires Stakes.

To tackle the Slipper would cost the owners just $118,150 over and above what the other owners have had to fork out. For them to get to the Slipper will have cost $31,850 while Rostova can pay an all inclusive $150,000 5 days out from the big race.

The $3.5 million stakes will be split $2million for first, $620k second, $310k third, $190k fourth, $130k fifth and $50k for 6th to 10th.

With prize money of $432,750 to her name it seems a fair Golden Slipper bet.

And history says she'll join exalted company if the bet works.

VRC Sires winners to take the Golden Slipper double read like a 'who's who' of Australian racing - Pago Pago in 1963; Storm Queen in '66, Vain in '69, Full On Aces in '81, Canny Lad in '90 and last year Von Costa De Hero was in front of Sebring just inches after the post.

The argument has been put to the jury but there is still one last option- 50/50.

Yes or No?

Yes.

I hope she runs in the slipper ,she's a brilliant filly .I think when Steven King said she was the best two year old he's ever ridden after winning in November says it all .
