Ben Asgari likes the chances of Greg Eurell's lightly raced three-year-old Prizum ahead of the meeting at Betfair Park this Wednesday.

Such is Eurell’s opinion of Prizum, he has nominated him for the Cadbury Guineas in March and had even nominated him for the Cox Plate as an unraced three year old in the spring

Greg Eurell takes two horses to Betfair Park this Wednesday, the consistent mare Portland Paije and the promising three-year-old Prizum.

Of the two, it's the latter three-year-old gelding by Umatilla that offers the most interest.

At his first race start in a Geelong maiden, Prizum made light work of barrier thirteen to race away from his rivals by almost two lengths at the finish. Eurell has picked out Wednesday's race, a restricted three-year-old event over 1400 metres aptly named the Betfair Handicap, for the geldings second start.

It certainly looks a tough choice on paper, with top trainers Peter Moody, Peter Snowden, Lee Freedman, David Hayes, Mick Price, John McArdle and even Bart Cummings all having top chances in the race.

However Prizum's greatest threat could come in the shape of the Robert Hickmott -trained Lloyd Williams-owned Linton.

After finishing just out of the placings on debut at Flemington, Linton went to a Cranbourne maiden where he annihilated his rivals, to romp away to a seven length victory.

Despite the impressive credentials of his rivals, Eurell will go into Wednesday's event with supreme confidence in his own horse. Such is Eurell's opinion of Prizum, he has nominated him for the Cadbury Guineas in March and had even nominated him for the Cox Plate as an unraced three-year- old in the spring.

Danny Nikolic will maintain the ride on Prizum and should be able to give the gelding every chance after drawing favourably in barrier four.

Eurell's other runner for the day, Portland Paije, kicks things off for the stable in race one on the card, a 2100 metre restricted 0-89 for fillies and mares. After three impressive runs so far this preparation, Eurell's mare should be ready to produce her best and, with an obvious lack of speed on paper, it would be no surprise to see jockey Chris Symons push forward from the outside gate.
