Woods came into 1.25 on the Betfair exchange when he took a commanding lead in the tournament. But after an even par 72 on Saturday, he’s now at an eminently backable price of 1.67.

The world number one is still good value on the exchange as he heads into the final round of the Australian Masters.

There's been plenty of conjecture about the true price of the world's number one golfer as he attempts to win the Australian Masters. Tiger Woods predictably heads into the final round as a pronounced favourite, but his price isn't nearly as short as it was looking likely to be on Friday.

Woods came into 1.25 on the Betfair exchange when he took a commanding lead in the tournament. But after an even par 72 on Saturday, he's now at an eminently backable price of 1.67.

Some will see this as particularly good value for a golfer who has no peer, particularly when he's out in front.

But there are plenty of smart traders who got in before the tournament started and got some decent volumes on at 2.80 and over. The smartest of them have already laid off a sizable chunk of that and they'll be mowing the lawns on Sunday without a care in the world.

It's important, though, to remember that Woods is still sharing the lead despite his lacklustre third round that came after strong rounds of 66 and 68 on the first two days.

Tiger is 10-under for the tournament, and he's got Australians Greg Chalmers and James Nitties breathing down his neck after the pair fired third rounds of 69.

They have a two-shot lead over another local hope, Cameron Percy and the American, Jason Dufner.

Dufner is playing in the last group with Woods. He had an amazing start on Saturday, with four birdies in the first eight holes. But he got the staggers, recording bogeys at the ninth, 16th and 17th holes.

Woods began by missing a birdie at the par five first, but he looked set to put things back on track after a birdie at the second from nine metres.

He dropped a shot at the par four third and had a tough day finding fairways off the tee for the rest of the day.

He'll need a better day on Sunday to hold off the increasing challenge. But there's a high likelihood that the 1.67 will be looking like great value by Sunday evening.
