Mumbai Indians v Pune Warriors

IPL RSS / Tobias Gourlay / 20 April 2011 / Leave a comment Bet Now View Market

The Little Master has scored 201 runs in his first three games and is yet to be dismissed.

Mumbai Indians might be a little over-reliant on their star batsman and bowler and Tobias Gourlay thinks Pune Warriors might expose a soft underbelly.

Mumbai Indians

Sachin Tendulkar is the man in Mumbai. It is hard to imagine that ever not being the case. But who knows what kind of form Kieron Pollard, Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma might be in? They have not had chance to show us yet.

Pune Warriors

Graeme Smith is not yet attuned to the T20 format, but Jesse Ryder and Yuvraj Singh are covering for him. Pune's pacemen - Shrikant Wagh and the South Africans, Wayne Parnell and Alfonso Thomas - suffered a little at the fast hands of Virender Sehwag and David Warner in Sunday's defeat to Delhi, but have threatened enough in other matches to deserve another go.

Match Odds

Pune have won 2/3 home games, but must now leave Navi Mumbai for Mumbai proper. Or the Wankhede Stadium, to give it its improper name.

Mumbai Indians are coming off a loss, just like their visitors, but are [1.64] favourites to make it three wins out of four. That price looks a little short, given the deficiencies Kochi exposed in their bowling department.

Lasith Malinga is the danger man, but if Pune's big hitters can survive his opening burst their team's price should come in as they plunder runs against Mumbai's other bowlers - none of who has taken more than two wickets across the three matches to date.

Top Mumbai Batsman

Sachin Tendulkar made his first T20 century against Kochi last time out. The Little Master has scored 201 runs in his first three games and is yet to be dismissed. He will be a short-priced favourite to win the Top Mumbai Batsman market for a third time, but Ambati Rayudu is his only team-mate who could also claim to be in good form with the bat.
