Out with Kim, in with Liza

It was an all girl line up on the elimination stage last week. No surprises to see Kim and Kate there again, but the shock was Hayley Warner one of the two competition favourites. I don't think it is a reflection on her performance, it was simply that Australia forgot to vote for her, writes Jayme Jenkins.

Not surprising the elimination stage favourite Kim Cooper was sent packing last week, making way for the great Liza Minnelli, singing "Cabaret" and launching stage and screen night.

Toby Moulton lead the night with "Somebody To Love" and later sang "Exit Music". He has largely flown under the radar this whole series but has a solid fan base that brings him through each week unscathed. The odds are stacked against Toby this week being the prime candidate for elimination, but his fans have got him this far and I think they will get him a little further still.

It's no secret that I am not a fan of Kate Cook, only delivering average performances each week and this week was much the same, singing "Son Of A Preacher Man" and "Make You Feel My Love". The judges did enjoy her second performance but it won't be enough to keep her off the elimination stage. I have been saying it for a while now, but hopefully this is her week to go home.

Hayley Warner was clearly left shaken from being up for elimination and it came through in her first performance of "These Days". Luckily she was able to redeem herself when she later sang "Oh What A Night". Let's hope that the Hayley fans remember to get voting this week, if they do I think she will be safe for another week.

To round out the elimination line up, expect to see James Johnston back. James revisited a previous performance by pulling out "You'll Never Walk Alone" again. He did perform it well, but he took a risk by repeating the same song. He finally sang some Elvis in performance two, something I had hoped to see from him for a long time and he did it very well.

No surprise that Stan Walker still holds the top spot, he is adaptable and brings an amazing performance each week. He remains the top pick for taking out this competition.

Stay tuned for contestants' choice this week!
