In the most surprising eviction of the 2008 series, former Big Brother betting favourite Nobbi has been ejected from the BB house, writes James Heffield.
The 21-year-old student from Melbourne, who received 59.1% of the TV audience vote on Sunday night, became the 10th housemate to be evicted this season.
Nobbi was popular with fellow housemates and few punters could have predicted he would receive such a massive chunk of the decisive eviction vote, considering a whopping six housemates were up for eviction.
The self-professed stirrer survived the competition for 56 days but was rarely given the opportunity to enter the Big Brother house after a hand grenade from Terri in the first week of the competition confined him to the kombi van and house backyard.
Nobbi fell out of favour almost three weeks ago after he brought Travis to tears with pointed questions about who Travis disliked most in the house.
Nobbi managed to save himself from eviction after winning Friday Night games for two weeks running but the power to save a housemate from eviction backfired last week when he saved Rory and inadvertently dropped himself into the eviction zone.
His eviction will hit Rory and Ben hardest and may break the kombi-crew's dominance in the house. The two may have to forge new friendships to survive being nominated for eviction and the house dynamic is sure to change.
Supporters of auctioneer Terrence will be thrilled that the widely anticipated double eviction did not eventuate.
Terrence was made to sweat it out in one of Big Brother's eviction rooms for most of Sunday night's show before re-emerging into the house to the disappointment of many housemates, who will have to put up with his prolonged stories for at least another week.
Fans of practical joker Nobbi will be glad to hear he had one last prank to pull, using his housemate hand grenade to send the resident over-50's, Terri and Terrence, to take his place in the kombi van.
Terri and Terrence, who will both be allowed in the house for 20 minutes a day to shower, took the news well, laying out some ground rules for co-existing in the kombi - no dutch ovens and no hanky panky.
Big Brother betters backing Terri, currently available at $8.20 to win the competition behind Travis on $2.52 and Rory on $6.80, will be hoping her confinement to the kombi and subsequent isolation from other housemates won't see the NSW nana fade into the background and drift quietly from the Big Brother house.
