More than half the remaining Big Brother housemates are up for eviction this week and few BB punters will be comfortable that the person they have backed is safe, writes James Heffield.
Terrence, Cherry, Alice, Brigitte, Terri, and Nobbi are all on the eviction chopping block and with viewer votes likely to be seriously split, Big Brother may consider his second double eviction of the season.
Cherry and Terrence, with five eviction points, and Alice and Rory, with four points, were the original group facing expulsion from the house, but Rory was taken out of the mix by Nobbi, who won the right to save one housemate at last week's Friday night games.
Nobbi and Brigitte, with three points each from fellow housemates, then dropped into the eviction zone to take Rory's place.
It's hard to see what any of the six facing eviction have done wrong in the previous week that would change TV viewer's voting.
Terrence has continued with his longwinded stories, Alice and Terri have remained outspoken and Brigitte and Cherry have continued their flirty, but as yet unlucky in love, routine.
Nobbi, who has remained one of the favourites to win despite his penchant for stirring trouble, couldn't help but be surprised to be in the eviction zone after his decision to save Rory.
One of the most popular in the house, the 21-year-old university student from Victoria has not faced the public's vote since Big Brother changes the voting system earlier this month. He will be hoping his larger than life personality has rubbed off on viewers as much as it has on housemates.
Perhaps the biggest mistake of a relatively undramatic week in the house came from Ben, who is one of the few who won't have to worry about Sunday night's vote.
Ben spent much of Wednesday night throwing up and sleeping on the toilet floor after ignoring Big Brother's advice to drink the beer he provided at the weekly family dinner responsibly. Viewers will be eager to see how Bianca, who has taken a romantic shine to Ben, reacts to the embarrassing situation.
Meanwhile, the announcement of a $250,000 cash prize for the 2008 Big Brother champion will have given this week's eviction more meaning.
Housemates are now acutely aware of what's at stake and may become more cut throat as the business end of the season draws near. Only five weeks remain in Big Brother's quest to find the last housemate standing.
