Zabeelionaire to Stutt his stuff

Zabeelionaire is currently on watch for a start in the Caulfield Guineas, but only if his Stutt Stakes performance warrants such.

Brad Thompson has a feeling Australia's most talented maiden, Zabeelionaire, might just be able to change his winless status by taking out tonight's G2 Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Trained by Leon Corstens, Zabeelionaire looks well-suited to the 1600m contest in a race that would considerably boost his stallion value.

This $250,000 son of Zabeel has always shown promise after debuting over an unsuitable 1200m trip before running home strongly behind Costly Commitment, which has franked the form by subsequently winning again at Caulfield.

Corstens has indicated that Zabeelionaire could race handier than his previous race starts with Stephen Baster in the saddle.

He is currently on watch for a start in the Caulfield Guineas, but only if his Stutt Stakes performance warrants such.

Corstens also has engaged Rahveel for the race, but is likely to save him for an assignment in the G2 Edward Manifold on Sunday at Flemington.
