Failford Flas's 50 per cent win record at the track/distance is much better than when he races elsewhere, and punters are likely to get good value because of the presence of a couple of other top contenders...

Failford Flash is the wise choice in Friday's Sky Racing Stakes at The Gardens (race 6, 5.37).

Connections have every reason to be confident that he can win his fifth race in a row here.

This track, and the 400m trip, are wonderfully suited to this speedster. He has had at least three lengths in hand in his last three wins here, most recently when scoring by 4.75 lengths from Belle's Melody last week.

His 50 per cent win record at the track/distance is much better than when he races elsewhere, and punters are likely to get good value because of the presence of a couple of other top contenders, Dookie Doo and Howes Brado.

Neither of these can be discounted, though Dookie Doo, trained by Darryl Wilson, had a shocker two weeks ago at Gosford. Still, with a best time of 22.95 - identical to Failford Flash - on her day she will have plenty of backers.

Trainer Paul Shepherd has Howes Brado in good form, with two wins in his last three starts. He has six wins in 13 starts over the track/distance and won't mind his draw in box six at all.

A very interesting race in prospect and it would be no surprise if two of these three were contesting it right to the line.
