...the $40 on offer for Tiger to win the Grand Slam in 2010 looks rather attractive
As the Tiger circus rolls on, Will Hamer ponders what it means for Major betting in 2010
While I may be joining the party a little late here, I'm also keen to lay Tiger Woods.
No, I'm not a busty cocktail waitress--just an avid golf punter with an eye for value wanting to lay a good bet.
When I spotted the market this week for Tiger Major wins in 2010, I was dumbstruck.
In the red for no major wins in 2010!
Who is kidding who here??
Of course, Tiger is going to be back in 2010.
And of course he's going to win a major.
OK, the first part may not be as definitive as I would like to think, but if Elin is busily shopping for divorce lawyers you can bank on the fact that Tiger will be even more hell bent on restoring his window-shattered reputation.
And, as is the rite-of-passage for any 'I-messed-up' celeb, it will involve couch time.
Not with a psychiatrist, but rather someone of the Diane Sawyer ilk.
After that, he'll be back out on the course and doing what he does best--winning.
I hear the naysayer's, including my better half, who believe his game will be temporarily off-kilter because of the airing of his dirty laundry.
I don't buy this, for two reasons.
The first: It's Tiger and, as he says, when he's on the course, his mind his free from anything else.
The second: If serial philandering and lying didn't upset his rhythm, then I find it hard to believe that coming clean will upset him.
That raises an interesting question.
Could a cleansed soul and empty house mean Tiger will come back better than ever?
If so, the $40 on offer for Tiger to win the Grand Slam in 2010 looks rather attractive.
