There is a decent race in smart galloper That's Not It, and for Brad Thompson it's this Saturday at Flemington.
Trained on the track by Mat Ellerton and Simon Zahra, That's Not It gets in on the bottom weight of 54kg for the Del Re National Food Group Handicap (1200m), with in-form hoop Chris Symons taking the ride from the outsider gate eleven.
The recent pattern for sprint races down the Flemington straight has favoured horses drawn on the outer, which should suit the four-year-old by Foreplay.
That's Not It has had three runs this campaign, kick-started by a luckless first-up effort at Moonee Valley in early October.
He then produced a sound two-length defeat to Total Liberty in a solid race at Bendigo, before failing on a heavy track at Sandown last time behind Freereturn.
A Group 3 winner last year, the Ellerton-Zahra training combination have stated during the week that That's Not It has been searching for a dry track and the Flemington straight where he boasts a handy record.
At Flemington, That's Not It has been beaten into second by Panipique, but in the same race beat home subsequent group winner and Peter Moody-trained boom horse, Kulgrinda.
