Something special for Sachin?

As I am predicting a draw, I also believe Tendulkar will produce his 100th century

Perth produced what Chris Cairns thought was a predictable outcome for Australia, but he still feels that what David Warner did was something special.

The interest Warner has created in our sport has been tremendous, so let's hope he has the courage and tenacity to continue his style of play for many years to come.

Simply awesome.

Looking back on this series, I felt Australia would win 3-0. I still believe this only because of the history of the Adelaide Oval. It really is a batsman's paradise and Martin Crowe used to say to me "there were three certainties in life, death, taxes and a hundred at the Adelaide Oval".

While the three previous venues have produced quick, sideways moving wickets, much credit needs to go to the Aussie bowlers for the consistent swing they have generated at good speed. Because of the moisture in the pitches to date, the ball has been looked after and not damaged as much. Combine this with the concentrated outside off-attack the Aussie bowlers have maintained, and many balls have been left alone and gone through to the keeper. This also keeps the ball in good condition.

Conventional swing will not be as evident at Adelaide, but there will be reverse swing. The Indian batters are far more adept at playing this type of movement than traditional swing. The lower bounce in Adelaide means the Indians will also be more comfortable on the front foot.

The Indian bowling attack may include two spinners and two seamers. I always feel India are more comfortable with this line-up, but it will mean that if India lose the toss and end up in the field, Australia could post anything past 500.

Siddle and Hilfenhaus have been brilliant with the ball and yet I think Harris is my pick for most wickets this match. With spin playing a big role, Clarke will feature as most runs, but the outside one for me is Sehwag. He has done little this summer, but with Captaincy upon him, and short square boundaries, watch out.

As I am predicting a draw, I also believe Tendulkar will produce his 100th century. He has looked sublime this series without any luck. There is a certain irony that he should score his 100 at the ground where Don Bradman scored his very first 100 on first class debut. Bradman once described Tendulkar as the closest player to his own style.

I certainly hope the little master leaves Australia with a farewell gift.

Australia are match odds favourites to win.
