Quinton has called on his former apprentice-turned leading Sydney hoop Hugh Bowman to do the steering from the beautiful barrier of four.

A sharp first-up run by Ofcourseican has Brad Thompson wanting to back her again in the Golden Penchant at Rosehill on Saturday.

Trained by Rod Quinton, Ofcourseican is ready and primed to win at her second-up assignment at G3 level for fillies and mares, after being a conspicuous fast-finisher upon returning in the Listed Sheraco Stakes (1100m) with a third-placing a fortnight ago at Rosehill.

That particular race was run at a fast clip, and hopefully it will again be a hot tempo in the $250,000 Golden Pendant (1200m) which replaces the Research Stakes in an overhauled Sydney spring carnival program.

Quinton has called on his former apprentice-turned leading Sydney hoop Hugh Bowman to do the steering from the beautiful barrier of four.

Betfair players can expect at least $6 for Ofcourseican.

In other races on the day, Woorim looks a big player to snare the first Group 1 for his top Brisbane trainer Rob Heathcote in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.

Expect that hyped three-year-old Smart Missile is well supported in the feature race of the day, leaving Woorim at the attractive quote of over $5.50 on Betfair.

He may need some hint of luck in running, but he should get the pace to suit, and we all know how he can finish off a race in lightning fashion.
