Although up sharply in the weights, the small field suits and from the inside gate Upon This Rock should be on the speed throughout and hard to run down.

Gary Crispe of 'racingandsport' believes honest mare Upon This Rock will prove hard to run down in today's Super Saver Handicap at Kembla Grange.

The mare jumps in the weights after a strong fresh-up win, but looks more than capable of taking back-to-back wins as she steps up to a mile for this Benchmark 80 for fillies and mares.

Prepared by Gai Waterhouse at Randwick, Upon This Rock has raced 18 times for three wins and nine minors.

Last campaign she failed to break through but strung together a series of placings. After a disappointing ninth third-up, she appreciated the soft ground and extra journey when placed over 1300m at Warwick Farm, then stepped up to 1400m at Rosehill and placed again on soft ground. Straight up to 1900m at Canterbury she raced on the speed and fought on well, but found one better in Dancing Attendance, then returned there at her last run before a spell and led until the final stages before being grabbed by Our Banshee close to the line.

After a good spell, Upon This Rock resumed over 1400m at Rosehill in this class, and after leading early on kicked away around the bend, scoring a 2.8-length win. She is fitter for that and suited by the longer journey this afternoon. Although up sharply in the weights, the small field suits and from the inside gate Upon This Rock should be on the speed throughout and hard to run down.

The Peter Snowden trained Tactless, on the other hand, will be camped off the speed and hard to hold out.

The lightly-raced mare was placed second-up over 1400m at Warwick Farm before a fast-finishing fourth over 1550m at Canterbury when beaten less than two lengths. Up to a mile at Warwick Farm she drew the outside gate and went back to the tail before running on to finish fifth. Last start, again at Warwick Farm over a mile, she settled last but came with a powerful run to score a well-timed win.

She meets a tougher grade here but this doesn't look much harder and she is at her top now after five runs back. With a superb record in the conditions she should be hard to hold out again.

Madam Nash was a last start winner at Canterbury and will take catching.

The mare, prepared by Chris Waller, is on the quick back up after winner over 1550m at Canterbury last week, leading throughout to score by three lengths. She has a very consistent record, has won before backing up within a week and with this small field will roll forward and take catching again.

Miracle Magic has been racing well this campaign and looks next best.

The mare, trained on the course, doesn't have the best soft track record, but will be fit and tough at the finish, having just missed out over 1900m at Canterbury last time. The last time she raced here she won well when coming from off the speed and she can be getting home into the finish at odds again today.
