Rewind to go forward

Both trainers – Darren McDonald and Gary Ennis – will be confident that their entrants can score here, as they’re in excellent form.

Rewind can turn back the clock to last week's win in the Rapidvite heats in the final at Sandown on Thursday (race 6, 8.52).

But expect a major scrap between him and Flash Drive, who will also be heavily backed in the Gr5 final.

Both trainers - Darren McDonald and Gary Ennis - will be confident that their entrants can score here, as they're in excellent form.

Rewind won his heat in 29.66, from box six, last week as he scored by just over two lengths from Select Breaker to justify his status as a 1.30 favourite.

It ended a barren streak of three races, all at this track over the 515m distance, and was his 21st win in 31 starts.

Flash Drive, ironically, has virtually identical stats, so it should be a fascinating race, and their winning times in the heats were just six-hundredths of a second apart.

Flash Drive has won his last four starts, so if he starts a higher price than Rewind that would represent good value.

Elsewhere, there should be support for Black Dodge and Zippstar, who have both won their last two outings.

Black Dodge has six wins from 14 starts - including three for six over this track/distance - while Zippstar won his heat by nine lengths last week and has since also scored at Sale over 440m. His winning percentage right now is better than 50 per cent, and he has drawn well in box five.

There will be plenty of interest in Black Nitro, out of box six, after his 3.5 length win over Game Hunter here last weekend.
