Hewitt deserves much praise for getting as far as he had, particularly when many commentators had written him off before he played Andy Roddick in the last round
As much as he may wish it to be otherwise, Andy Morris isn't counting on any more wonders from Lleyton Hewitt.
Hewitt is 30 years old and has had five operations in four years, meaning it's not looking good for his chances of causing a huge upset by beating Novak Djokovic tonight.
It's more a case, surely, of how many games Hewitt can take from the imperious Djokovic, who has only dropped 10 games in his three matches so far.
Hewitt deserves much praise for getting as far as he had, particularly when many commentators had written him off before he played Andy Roddick in the last round. The circumstances were in his favour, sure, but he's shown plenty of grit and skill to make it into week two.
Hewitt beat the Serb in the US Open in 1006, but has since lost in three Grand slams to him, including here in Melbourne four years ago.
Before Hewitt even steps onto Rod Laver Arena, the crowd will no doubt have been treated to a close match between Germany's Sabine Lisicki and Maria Sharapova of Russia.
Sharapova will start favourite, being seeded four for the tournament, but don't write off Lisicki, who is the 14th seed. The Russian hasn't played in 2012 before arriving in Melbourne, and won't relish taking on the heavy-hitting German.
