Manchester United remain hot on City's trail after recording a resounding 5-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

A few days ago a 'certain' Betfair columnist might have indicated a goal-crazy series of matches lay ahead in the Premier League, and after Wednesday's matches, it seems he was spot on.

Manchester City ensured they would be top of the table at Christmas thanks to a 3-0 win over an in-form Stoke side at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero got his 14th goal of the season on the half hour mark, and his 15th of the season came soon into the second half after Adam Johnson had earlier made it 2-0. Aguero was backed at just [5.1] in the First Goalscorer market, while the 3-0 Correct Score was matched at [10.0].

Manchester United remain hot on City's trail after recording a resounding 5-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Danny Welbeck, Nani and Ryan Giggs got the first half goals to put the game beyond doubt before the interval; Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov completed the drubbing late in the game. The' Any Unquoted Correct Score' was matched at [7.4]

The games of the night came at the Sports Direct Arena (St James Park) where West Brom led three times to beat Newcastle 3-2 - matched at [55.0] in the Correct Score market - and at Loftus Road where Sunderland beat QPR by the same scoreline (matched at [80.0]).

Elsewhere, Arsenal condemned Aston Villa to another home defeat thanks to a late Yossi Benayoun goal. The Gunners had led 1-0 thanks to a Robin van Persie penalty in the first half but Marc Albrighton brought the home side level with a goal that will go down in history as the 20,000th to be scored in the Premier League. Arsenal were backed at [8.6] In-Play to take all three points.

The only goal-less game of the night came at the DW Stadium where Luis Suarez failed to inspire Liverpool to a much needed victory. Charlie Adam had a penalty saved in the second half by Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi and the Reds will once again rue a host of missed chances. The 0-0 Correct Score was matched at a high of [14.0].

In the other game of the night Everton beat Swansea 1-0 thanks to a second half Leon Osman goal.

Man City have tightened their grip at the head of the Premier League Winner market and can now be backed at just [1.67] to win the title in May. Fierce rivals United are next in at [3.3] and it's [26.0] bar two.

Manchester residents weren't the only people celebrating this evening. My Christmas certainly brightened up after all my midweek selections were successful. Both Wolves and Norwich scored during Tuesday night's encounter - advised at [1.69] - Arsenal beat Aston Villa ([1.81]) with Robin van Persie getting on the score sheet ([2.2]), Over 2.5 Goals ([1.96]) was successful in the Newcastle game, whilst Man City beat Stoke 3-0 - advised at a tasty [9.6].

Here's hoping you followed at least a few of my recommendations, and I wish you all a very happy Christmas.
