...Chelsea 'edged' Newcastle in what was a far tighter game than the 3-0 final score reflects

Bottom of the table Blackburn lifted with four from the Yak in a day when some of the big guns of the Premier League also stamped their authority.

It's been a good day for the Premier League big guns with Manchester City, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal all landing heavy wins.

The day started at St James's Park (or Sports Direct Arena if you prefer) where Chelsea 'edged' Newcastle in what was a far tighter game than the 3-0 final score reflects. Didier Drogba put the Blues ahead on the stroke of half-time, following a first 45 minutes that saw missed penalties for both sides.

It was cut and thrust for much of the second-half with Shola Ameobi hitting the crossbar as Newcastle put the pressure on. But as the home side went forward in search of an equaliser, spaces were left open at the back and Chelsea scored two late goals. the 3-0 final score was backed at [65.0] in-play on Betfair, with Over 2.5 goals matched at [27.0].

White Hart Lane witnessed another 3-0 scoreline, but it was far easier for Spurs who took advantage of a Gary Cahill red card to land another three points - their sixth Premier League win in a row. Tottenham are [19.5] to win the title.

The leaders, however, are not looking too shaky. Norwich were beaten 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium, late goals from Mario Balotelli and Adam Johnson adding extra gloss to the final score which was backed at [36.0]. City are now [1.67] to win the Premier League.

Arsenal kept in touch with the chasing pack, scoring four times at Wigan and keeping a clean sheet too. Defeat sends Wigan to the bottom of the league, level on point with Bolton. The Latics are the favourite to go down at [1.44], Wanderers are [2.22].

Blackburn, however, did themselves a huge favour in the basement battle thanks to a 4-2 defeat of Swansea, all four goals coming from Yakubu. Over 5.5 goals traded at a high of [26.0]. Rovers, one point above Bolton and Wigan, are [2.14] to go down.
