Brad Thompson suggests following Panipique in his second-up assignment of the Listed Slickpix Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Panipique unleashed blistering closing sectionals when finishing hard for sixth upon returning in the Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield.
After getting well back, Panipique matched it on the clock with the winner of that race in the final 200m, behind what most believe is a sprinter capable of winning at Group One level, Bel Sprinter.
Trained by leading trainer Peter Moody, Panipique has been placed well into this race, which is arguably one of her easiest missions.
She generally doesn't win first-up, but has won twice second-up from three attempts, which is where she's at on Saturday.
Panipique gets into the race with 54.5kg, 3kg less than the topweight Atomic Force, who is effective first-up and showed that in the Starlight Stakes at Rosehill a fortnight ago, but not as much so second-up.
Interestingly, stable hoop Luke Nolen has elected to steer the favourite, Avenue, who is returning after a luckless, but still disappointing appearance in Adelaide.
Instead, Ben Melham picks up another Moody-trained ride from the perfect barrier of number six.
At each way odds, $6.80 is a huge price for Panipique for Betfair players.
