NRL Betting: Low voltage Eels no competition

Betting tips RSS / James Sweeney / 09 May 2012 / Leave a comment Bet Now View Market

Parramatta have sunk as far as any team I have seen in the NRL era.

James Sweeney is disgusted by the Eels showing this season, and sees them getting slammed again in their NRL match up this weekend against the Raiders.

Canterbury v Gold Coast
3 units on Canterbury at Match Odds of $1.16 of better ($1.33 available)

The poor old Titans just cannot take a trick.

They were the better team last week against the Wests Tigers - and still managed to blow it, losing in extra-time in a controversial finish.

Canterbury, meanwhile, enter this off the back of a 34-point demolition of Parramatta where the Bulldogs rediscovered their attacking chops. Canterbury have a 5-3 all-time record against the Gold Coast and have recorded wins of 10 and 22 in the last two outings between the two teams. The Titans have lost nine of their last 10 at Suncorp Stadium, losing their last four at the venue by an average of 22 points.

Against a Bulldogs side that has covered eight of its last 10, and allowed just 36 points in its last three outings, the Titans are facing another likely defeat.

New Zealand v Sydney Roosters
2 units on New Zealand at Match Odds of $1.33 or better ($1.51 available)

It looks like the Warriors have finally clicked.

In their most complete performance since the 2011 preliminary final victory against Melbourne, Shaun Johnson led the Warriors to a 30-20 victory over Brisbane. The forwards played with total purpose while the backs played direct and with some real zip.

The Warriors have won eight of 11 at home while the Sydney Roosters have won just one of their last six when playing outside of New South Wales. The Warriors have averaged a 17-point win in their last three at home and have covered eight of nine at Mt Smart.

The Roosters are playing to their level but will find this far too hard.

Canberra v Parramatta
1.5 units on Canberra at Match Odds of $1.40 or better ($1.49 available)

Parramatta have sunk as far as any team I have seen in the NRL era.

This is a team with no interest in winning, no interest in playing and no interest in finding any answers to their multitude of problems. The board has little idea as to what it is doing. The front office is a total mess. The coaching staff are out of their depth. The playing group is divided with little talent and a severe attitude problem.

The Raiders are hardly the most reliable proposition in the game but they should have few problems disposing of this hapless Eels outfit. Parramatta have won just one of nine this season and have won only one of their last seven against the Raiders at Canberra Stadium. The Raiders downed the Eels by 13 and 28 in their last two at Canberra Stadium and the Raiders did look good against Manly.

Expect Parramatta to capitulate again.
