In the absence of a notable up-and-comer, Brad Thompson is jumping on Motorised at Flemington on Saturday.
Motorised has chased home the talented Pied A Terre at his only two careers starts, but he won't have to contend with the unbeaten Peter Snowden-trained galloper on this occasion in the 1410m event at headquarters.
By Flying Spur out of the Naturalism mare True Blonde, Motorised was a $310,000 purchase at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Trained by John Sadler, Motorised has run fourth and second behind Pied A Terre, with the latter performance over what appears to be a suitable distance around 1400m.
He motored home after a chequered passage coming into the straight to run Pied A Terre to within less than a length last start and was clearly taking ground off his rival in the final 50m once he found clear room.
