Graham Arnold will be pleased with the Mariners after a weekend when Matt Simon's late goal earned them the points against Wellington
The Mariners have run into form at just the right time, something Andy Morris sees as making them a good bet to beat Melbourne Victory at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday.
This fixture is always tight, as shown by the fact that both sides have won seven of their meetings, with the other four being drawn.
The clubs' fortunes are in contrast right now, though, as Central Coast go searching for a third straight win, while the Victory are still in the doldrums.
Victory have only won once so far this season, though last week's draw against defending champions Brisbane - when they finished the game with just nine men - was encouraging.
Graham Arnold will be pleased with the Mariners after a weekend when Matt Simon's late goal earned them the points against Wellington. The defence looks solid, and both Simon and fellow striker Bernie Ibini-Isei look in good form.
While Arnold hopes to have another forward, Adam Kwasnik, fit after he needed to rest a calf problem last week, Melbourne have four players ruled out. Goalkeeper Ante Covic and defender Matthew Foschini are both suspended while Harry Kewell and Carlos Hernandez are off playing for the Socceroos and Costa Rica.
With those players unavailable, there will be added pressure on stand-ins Maro Rojas and Carlos Soloranzo.
The Mariners are 2.30 in match odds betting, while Melbourne are 3.4.
