Peer comes into this match having won four of her last five matches in Grand Slams, four of her last five in Australia and the same on hard-courts
Ben Caudell is here to help focus your betting mind on a couple of long-shots in Day Four of the Australian Open.
Four Reasons to back Shahar Peer @ [2.14] to defeat Sabine Lisicki
• The head-to-head series between Shahar and Sabine is tied at 2-2, but Peer has won both previous hard-court meetings in straight sets (Cincinnati 2011, 6-4 7-6 and Montreal 2008, 6-3 6-4)
• Peer comes into this match having won four of her last five matches in Grand Slams, four of her last five in Australia and the same on hard-courts.
• The top-ranked Israeli enjoys playing in Melbourne Park where she has made it through to the third round four times from her last five, reaching the quarter-final stage in 2007 where she lost to Serena Williams in three sets. Lisicki has made the third round of the Australian Open on one occasion and that was in 2008.
• Shahar dispatched Isabella Holland with ease in her first round match, and has shown decent pedigree on the hard-courts in the last 12 months. She recently reached the semi-finals of the Hobart Open, the final of College Park in July, and the quarter-finals of Indian Wells and Dubai. Lisicki, on the other hand, struggled in her first round match against qualifier Stefanie Voegele in three sets.
