Every game is massive for the Kings XI now, they will need to win their last three games if they want to have a good chance of making the play offs
If Punjab can take a couple of the Daredevil early wickets, even though Delhi are undoubtedly the form team, Rowan Williams believes it could end up a close contest.
Venue and Conditions
It should remain dry for the night's only fixture from the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.
Delhi Daredevils team news
Leaders Delhi are pretty much assured of qualification for the play-offs, but can guarantee themselves a place with a win today. Since the introduction of David Warner to their top order, replacing Kevin Pieterson, who has returned home for the English summer, they have the most fearsome opening partnership in the tournament. It will be interesting to see if they try out the big West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell, but they have no reason to tamper with a well-functioning line up.
Kings XI Punjab
Every game is massive for the Kings XI now, they will need to win their last three games if they want to have a good chance of making the play offs. Adam Gilchrist, their wicket keeper captain, might be fit enough to play but his replacement Nitin Saini, has proved to be a successful deputy and may continue, with David Hussey remaining as team captain.
Betfair Match Odds
Dehli have the form, and the batsmen, to make this as much of a one way show as the odds are suggesting. You can get 1.58 on the Daredevils, but I think that's too short. The Kings XI have much more to play for and if they can nip a couple of the top order early on, you will be happy with your 6/4. Dehli also lost their last game and Punjab have the momentum from a last ball four wicket win against Deccan on Sunday. The team from Punjab definitely represent the value and could well drift out more.
Delhi Top Bat
David Warner has scored the most runs in international T20 cricket, and has already scored a hundred this year in his three IPL games. His match winning 109 off 54 balls in the nine wicket demolition of Deccan, means that he has come to India in form. His opening partner, Virender Sehwag, is also in good form and has scored 476 runs in this year's competition. He is the fifth highest scorer in the tournament so far. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go for Warner as he tends to place more value on his wicket.
Kings XI Top Bat
Mandeep Singh has been a very consistent opener for the Kings XI and he is the highest scoring batsman for the team this year. David Hussey is probably the most talented and destructive element of the batting order but, it will be worth siding with Singh in the market. He is assured the opening spot and his exposure to more deliveries gives him the best chance of top scoring in the innings.
