Victoria Derby - Monaco Consul

A different form line is that of Monaco Consul who has not raced since winning the Spring Champion Stakes at big odds.

That was on heavy going but trainer Michael Moroney is confident that a firmer track will suit all the more - and he feels that the lightly raced colt is the best horse in the stable since Xcellent (incidentally, Rockferry's full brother).

In summary I am happy to stick with Monaco Consul. He was most impressive in Sydney and he still has that element of the unknown - he may be pretty special.

Coolmore Stud Stakes - King Pulse

There's a stand-out bet in the $500,000 Coolmore Stud Stakes, a 1200m dash down the straight for three-year-olds - King Pulse.

If it is the outside then the handsome and exciting King Pulse will be right in the thick of things from his gate, 15.

Happy to go with King Pulse on sheer potential - and good double figure odds!

Myer Classic - Typhoon Tracy

The $500,000 Myer Classic is a 1600m contest for mares and Typhoon Tracy looks like being the shortest priced favourite of the day.

And little wonder, the regally bred daughter of Red Ransom so impressive easily beating a similar field at Caulfield two weeks ago.
