Craig Newitt has already declared he will ride Samaready as the best horse in the race, with the main aim to keep her out of trouble and to allow her every chance to prove her superiority.

Mick Price looks the trainer most likely to Ben Asgari to train the feature winner at both Rosehill Gardens and Caulfield this Saturday.

Price has boom filly Samaready in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill in Sydney, while in Melbourne the talented gelding Testa My Patience lines up in the G3 Victoria Handicap at Caulfield.

Unbeaten in four career starts, including a dominant victory in February's $1M Blue Diamond (1200m), Samaready is currently rated the clear favourite for Saturday's $3M Golden Slipper (1200m).

Despite most Blue Diamond winner's first start in the "NSW direction" being something of a graveyard, Samaready defied the statistics with a super impressive win in the G2 Reisling Stakes (1200m).

Although the Gai Waterhouse-trained Pierro was also impressive in winning the G2 Todman Stakes (1200m) for colts and geldings, there are two clear standout two-year-olds this season: All Too Hard and Samaready.

With All Too Hard bypassing the Golden Slipper in favour of Saturday week's Sires Produce Stakes (1400m), the Slipper is at Samaready's mercy.

Craig Newitt has already declared he will ride Samaready as the best horse in the race, with the main aim to keep her out of trouble and to allow her every chance to prove her superiority.

Which is exactly what I think she will do on Saturday.

While I believe you may see slightly better than $3 on the exchange come Saturday, I would be prepared to back her at $2.60 or better.

Down south in Caulfield, Testa My Patience appears sensational value at double figures odds in the early market for Saturday's G3 Victoria Handicap (1400m).

A noted wet track duffer, Testa My Patience can be easily forgiven for his disappointing run with 60kgs first-up on slow ground at Moonee Valley.

Back to his home track at Caulfield, Testa My Patience drops to 57.5kgs for Saturday's race and looks fairly well treated at the weights for a G2 Crystal Mile winner considering the 54kg minimum.

The speed looks hectic early with the likes of Budriguez (13), Faster Son (17) and Under the Eiffel (15) all crossing over from wide draws, and Shock Value (8), Eight Schillings (4) and Utah Saints (1) all driving forward to maintain a position.

From the perfect barrier (7), Glen Boss should be able to position Testa My Patience midfield or slightly worse with cover before getting him to the outside in the home straight.

The favourite, Smokin Joey, will probably be close to last on the inside of runners from barrier five and is generally a horse that needs galloping room, while second pick Under the Eiffel, an on-pace runner, looks very likely to be trapped wide without cover from barrier fifteen.

Taking these factors into account, at around ten dollars in the early market, Testa My Patience looks significantly over the odds on Saturday.
