Booming is the only horse with both a touch of class and the ability to run a strong two miles.
Booming will line up in the Group 3 race over 3200m on Saturday at Eagle Farm as the likely favourite.
But there are a couple of question marks around his form - which should have Betfair layers on the exchange licking their lips.
The New Zealander has never won in Australia - in fact he hasn't tasted victory for 18 months.
Booming is having his second campaign in Australia for his kiwi trainer Jeff Lynds after making a late dash at the spring feature staying races without success.
This time in Brisbane, he has had three runs, with his most recent - a slashing second behind Ginga Dude in the G3 Tatts Cup - clearly his best.
While there are a few negatives around Booming, this is a race void of any serious depth. He is the only horse with both a touch of class and the ability to run a strong two miles.
Another big plus for Booming is that he gets the service of gun Brisbane hoop Chris Munce, who last week notched 100 wins in a season.
The pair should be winning this race, so my money is definitely on Booming.
