While more than $4 million was matched on Frankel at odds of $1.15 or better, a late rush of support saw him start at $1.11 on track and $1.12 on Betfair.

With an 11-length win overnight in the Queen Ann Stakes, Frankel becomes the highest-rated horse in Timeform history.

Frankel has become the highest-rated horse in Timeform history following his astonishing win in the Queen Anne Stakes on day one of Royal Ascot.

In a breathtaking opening to the annual Royal meeting, Frankel blitzed his rivals by 11-lengths to extend his undefeated career record to 11 starts. The performance has seen Frankel rise to a Timeform rating of 147, the highest rating ever given in the 64-year history of the international form and ratings authority.

"The facts are that Frankel's performance is likely to surpass anything witnessed in Timeform's history," Timeform flat editor David Johnson said.

"A point worth emphasising is the consistency with which Frankel has produced such performances. This is the fifth time that he has produced a 140 plus rating."

Renowned racing media identity and form analyst Steve Moran was on hand to watch Frankel's magnificent victory overnight, and has used his exclusive Betfair Royal Ascot blog to convey the surreal nature of the victory.

"It was as commanding a performance as you'd ever be likely to see on a racecourse," Moran declared.

"Frighteningly, his trainer Sir Henry Cecil said that Frankel was 'still improving' and winning jockey Tom Queally used words to the effect that the Galileo four-year-old would have 'finished up in the next suburb' had he really let him go.

With a rating of 147, Timeform concludes that the performance of Frankel in the Queen Anne Stakes is 11 points higher than Black Caviar. Australian racing fans might find it inconceivable that there could be another horse as the brilliant sprinter, but on balance, it appears Frankel has entered a stratosphere of his own.

Betting activity on the race matched the quality of the victory, with Betfair punters from around the world wagering $11,856,310 on the Queen Anne Stakes, $11,251,808 of that on Frankel.

While more than $4 million was matched on Frankel at odds of $1.15 or better, a late rush of support saw him start at $1.11 on track and $1.12 on Betfair.

Black Caviar will have the opportunity to challenge Frankel's rating when she takes to the field in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
