On paper, this should be a comfortable win for the Heart, whose recent run of victories included the scalps of Brisbane and Sydney.

Now that the Heart have the monkey off their backs by beating Gold Coast United, albeit at the fourth attempt, Andy Morris senses that the Red and Whites can breathe easier.

They beat United 2-1 in November, thanks to Matt Thompson's early goal and another from Jonatan Germano.

This kick-started the Heart's season, and came in the middle of the Queensland side's club record five-match losing streak.

So when they meet at Skilled Park, it's United who have something to prove.

Gold Coast's form has improved of late, although they have taken only a point from their last two games.

Adelaide's revival halted the Heart's run of five straight wins, when they won 3-1 on Big Wednesday. But they remain in third place on the ladder, having a game in hand over second-placed Brisbane.

James Brown should be back for United, after being rested on Wednesday, though Dylan Macallister is doubtful. Heart have three players they hope will come through fitness checks - Germany, Fred and Wayne Shroj.

On paper, this should be a comfortable win for the Heart, whose recent run of victories included the scalps of Brisbane and Sydney.

And yet United hadn't conceded a goal in four matches until Big Wednesday, so this might be tighter than many suggest.

Gold Coast are 2.62 in match odds betting, with the Heart 2.84.
