Legsman has notched up three wins, two seconds and a third at Canterbury, with all three of those victories from the 1900m start at the track.

Brad Thompson can't ignore the form-line behind Legsman in the Listed Frank Underwood Cup (1900m) at Canterbury on Saturday.

Legsman, trained by John O'Shea, boasts a win over Tullamore, which emerged as one of the finds of the spring in the Winter Cup back in June.

With inclement weather surrounding most of the state, a lot will depend on the condition of the track for the feature race of the program.

But never fear, Legsman has been placed on a heavy surface and is highly effective on slow ground, with two wins and four placings from eight tries.

His stats at Canterbury and the distance are even more glowing.

Legsman has notched up three wins, two seconds and a third at Canterbury, with all three of those victories from the 1900m start at the track.

At the distance alone, he has scored three wins and a placing at the 1900m journey from four attempts.

After an encouraging third-up performance when fifth to surprise winner Strike One a fortnight ago, Legsman is well-placed with 54.5kg in the race, just above the minimum for talented apprentice Josh Adams.

Legsman is prepared by in-form Randwick trainer John O'Shea at Randwick, who scored a treble a fortnight ago, making it four winners from the last two Saturday meetings.

He is currently trading at 8.2 on Betfair.
