The Gardens 7:43 R3 - Box 2 Class To Excel
This is likely to be a battle between Class To Excel and the dog in box five, Seize The Moment, but I am siding with the former on the strength of his last two outings.
He won as favourite in an October 5 race where he beat Bank Robber by 5.25 lengths, and followed that up with an impressive victory on October 14 on this track, when beating Lethal Pepper by 5l in a quick 24.02.
He has won five of his 10 track/distance starts, and seems to be on the up.
There is very little wrong with Seize The Moment, who won at this distance very impressively when odds-on last week, beating Monster Robbo by nearly 8l, but she may find her match this time.
The Gardens 9:45 R9 - Box 2 Opal Mine
You'd be wise to get on this dog, who has looked impressive in three recent outings on this track. All races have been at this 413m distance, and he has not been outside the first three here.
He finished third on October 7 behind Junior Grove, but ran a fast 24.04 next time out to beat Gift Pack by 3l to win at 7/4 three days later. It's just four days since he attempted to repeat that victory and came within 3.25l of beating Magic Faraway, again setting a fast time.
There is not much he has to beat in this race, the likely danger being box five's Keep My Cool who seems to have gone off the boil slilghtly.
