Austrian Wiesberger was a confident selection from Steve...
Betting punters are potentially in punting seventh heaven after Bernd Wiesberger wins in Korea, Jason Dufner triumphs in New Orleans and John Rollins also goes close, all predicted by our golfing guru writers at Betfair.
A trio of betting.betfair golf writers were in blistering form at last week's European and PGA Tour events, recommending very nicely priced winners at both the Ballantines Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Steve Rawlings - aka The Punter - has already enjoyed a brilliant season punting wise and it got even better at the weekend when Bernd Wiesberger bagged his maiden Tour title with a five stroke victory in Korea at monster odds of 130.0. Austrian Wiesberger was a confident selection from Steve who had written this just days before the tournament commenced:
"My only other pick is Bernd Wiesberger, who in contrast, has been given what looks to be the favourable draw. Bernd finished seventh behind Westwood in Indonesia last week with some very impressive stats and I thought he looked very much over-priced at 130.0."
A Wiesberger win wasn't just good news for Steve and his followers however, it was confirmation of regular Betfair contributor Mike Norman's judgement. Mike highlighted the young Austrian as a rising star when he penned a 'five-to-follow' column in December last year. Notice how that column also includes recent Sicilian Open winner Thorbjorn Olesen.
Mike now compiles a weekly Form Guide for betting.betfair, and that guide has already come up with European Tour winners Branden Grace (34.0), Paul Lawrie (60.0) and Louis Oosthuizen (12.0) this season.
And we can add to that list Jason Dufner who won the Zurich Classic on Sunday at odds of 28.0, with Mike pointing out that Dufner, "...appears to have a huge liking for this course."
As if hitting the tournament winners on both major tours we also gave you a fantastic trade to create profit whatever happened at the Zurich Classic. Paul Krishnamurty's Find Me a 100 Winner column is a long-running favourite on Betting.betfair and his excellent selection of John Rollins at 120.0 means he is deeply into profit already this year.
A clever staking plan is the key to this bet. Paul picks big-priced selections that he believes will trade at much lower odds should they get into contention.
And get into contention is exactly what Rollins did, eventually finishing in a tie for seventh having traded as low as 4.4 In-Play.
Lastly, Dan Geraghty also picked two winning three-ball tips in his weekly column making it a very successful weekend indeed for the BB team.
Thanks to our regular writers and their in-depth analysis of every single golf tournament on the European and PGA Tours, betting.betfair readers regularly find themselves in the money...and that really is the best news of all.
