It's Hume Cup night at The Meadows on Saturday, and Andy Morris spies some family rivalry heading the bill.

Heat two is perhaps the most interesting, with the possibility that Dyna Max and Dyna Kate will battle it out for the race honours.

These two are both the progeny of Collision, and between them they have earned more than $72,000 for their connections.

Dyna Max, in box one, has a decent record of 12 wins and 17 placings from his 44 starts, and his trainer Andrea Dailly will hope he can kick on from his last outing - he finished second, 1.25 lengths behind Cosmic Cooper, at Sandown last week.

That was over 595m, which suggests he can go well over the 600m here, while conversely his half-sister Dyna Kate disappointed when she raced at the track/distance last week. Her sixth place behind Autoamerican might dissuade punters from taking an interest given that she's expected to be a warm favourite.

But nine wins in 31 starts is a good record, and she won earlier this month at Sandown, edging Simply Charlie in the tightest of finishes over 515m. That was her third win in four races, so trainer Graeme Bate must be confident she'll be up to the task.

If there is one dog with the ability to beat the 'Dyna duo' it's Kalden Mayhem in box two.

Four wins in his last five races is no mean feat, and though this is a step up in class he shouldn't be ruled out.
