Presently on a hat-trick of wins, Rhodehaven beat subsequent Cranbourne winner Fieryflirt when they met last start on Dunkeld Cup Day.

Dan Bevan focuses on meets today at Warrnambool and Muswellbrook.

Warrnambool

Race 5 - Handicap (0 - 68) 1000 metres

Presently on a hat-trick of wins, Rhodehaven (1.22) beat subsequent Cranbourne winner Fieryflirt when they met last start on Dunkeld Cup Day. Enjoying the firm track that he will receive at Warrnambool today, this horse looks like he'll continue his winning ways for the small-but-in-form Craig Conron team.

The biggest danger in the race appears to be local charge Set Me Straight (1.22) which was beaten favourite in a race of this class last start and won't have to improve much to go one better this time.

Best bet: R5 No 5 Rhodehaven (1.22)

Race 8 - Handicap (0 - 62) 1400 metres

A winner at the track and distance last start, Smoking Aces (1.22) won't mind lumping the 59 kilograms of Danny Nikolic this afternoon with the son of Bianconi being up in the weights at all of his three wins.

Another horse from which to expect plenty of improvement is Cardiobeat (1.22) from the Caulfield stables of Colin Little. This horse was third at his last start at Pakenham and today will be the furthest he's travelled in search of easier company having done most of his racing in decent, provincial grade.

Next best: R8 No 1 Smoking Aces (1.22)

Muswellbrook

Race 4 - Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000 metres

Malabo (1.22) was very well supported last start when she ran a first-up fourth in a 900 metre race at Scone. A winner of three from six races to date with a further placing in one, she appears to be the class runner of the race and will be aided by the 1.5 kilogram claim of Rachael Murray.

Best bet: R4 No 2 Malabo (1.22)

Race 7 - Class 2 Handicap 1000 metres

Lost In Space (1.22) has had two wins and two thirds from his six starts and appears well-placed to add another win to his record today. Beaten equal favourite last start at Quirindi over 1200 metres, he comes back to his favoured 1000 metres today and should be hard to beat.

Next best: R7 No 1 Lost In Space (1.22)
