THE SUMMARY
December Draw graduated today to group one company with a tough staying victory in the traditional Cup's lead-up, the Turnbull Stakes.
The imported gelding was the subject of massive backing on Betfair, with the highest price offered pre-race being $3.14 and the starting price much shorter at $2.49.
In-running players thought the tough Glass Harmonium was set to hold off December Draw in the straight and took a low price of just $2.12 for Michael Moroney's front-runner.
ANTE POST MARKET CHANGES
December Draw has shortened up from $4.30 to $3.55 to win the Caulfield Cup, and has also taken over as outright favourite for the Melbourne Cup at $11 after sharing the top of the market with Lion Tamer at $14 before today's victory.
Glass Harmonium has been $100 into $42 in the Melbourne Cup.
